Nitrous or general anesthesia for implants and a bone graft?
I had four extractions last week (7-10) and this afternoon am having the bone graft and two implants put in. I did general anesthesia for the extractions, but am wondering if I should just go with the Nitrous this time. My insurance covered a lot more of the extraction costs, and for the implant surgery, switching to nitrous could save me around $500. It is not all about the money though. I am trying to figure out how painful this will be and how 'out of it' you really are on nitrous. I have heard of some people not remembering a think on gas and others saying that they were awake and aware the whole time. Any thoughts or advice?

Dentists of Reddit--is this NORMAL?
So last week, I started having horrible pain in my mouth in the canine tooth on the right hand side and in the tooth right behind it. Like, rolling on the floor sobbing in agony because my teeth were throbbing kinda pain.
I went to the dentist Monday and they told me I needed two emergency root canals and I had a massive infection. Fine. Do what you need to do.
After several hours, I left with a temporary crown and in more pain than when I went in. I thought that having the root canals done would make the pain at least somewhat go away. D: But that hasn't happened. The painkiller they prescribed (Tylenol-3, I think) doesn't do jack shit for the pain unfortunately. I'm in more pain NOW than I was before they started messing with my teeth.
Is this normal? I didn't think I'd be in this much pain after a double root canal. D:

To begin I went through a deep depression and did not take good care of my teeth. And I went to the dentist in April and they told me of everything wrong. But the big thing that has me terrified is that I have acute Periodontal disease. I'm terrified of my teeth coming out. Why Are They Called “Wisdom” Teeth?
Have you ever questioned how your wisdom teeth got their title? Are they truly cleverer than the rest of your teeth? According to Spondon Dental Derby, wisdom teeth or third molars, inherited their term as they are the last teeth in your mouth to grow and flare up. This outbreak most frequently takes place in the course of your late teenage years, which is mentioned by some, as the period of “wisdom” – from now on the name wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth, on one occasion, was tremendously beneficial now serve little purpose. The reason for this is sustenance. As manhood progressed, so did our consumption habits. Our diet once comprised of very rough food, which caused teeth to roughen or wear down so considerably that they take up a smaller amount of space in the mouth over time. As the food was hard to chew, the jaw was forced to put effort harder, causing it to develop into a larger bone. Also to the regular loss of teeth at an initial age created more area in the mouth for wisdom teeth when they appeared.
Nowadays processed food and present dentistry have reduced the amount of wear on teeth. The Early tooth loss causes us to have too many teeth and not sufficient space in the jaw to accommodate them. It causes wisdom teeth to become jammed, abnormally positioned and unable to completely erupt. There are three categories of wisdom teeth as described by Spondon Dental Derby: • Erupted: The wisdom teeth are completely erupted, line up correctly with molars and do not show any requirement for removal. • Partly Erupted: The wisdom teeth are positioned in such a way so that only a portion of the teeth is noticeable. • Unerupted: The wisdom teeth are stuck in the jawbone and not capable of erupting because of their placing.
Erupted and partly erupted wisdom teeth are problematic to clean properly. Food remains in the mouth and turns into plaque, which in due course lead to tooth decay, gum ailment and infection to the wisdom teeth as well as to the adjoining molars. Impacted wisdom teeth occasionally form a swelling that damages the roots of the neighboring vigorous teeth, the jaw and nerves. The best way to avoid upcoming difficulties with your wisdom teeth is to visit Spondon Dental Derby on a regular basis. Root canal without temorary??
Hello, I am getting some dental work done and would love some opinions since the dentist office is closed.
I have lost a quarter of my one molar (19) and am getting a root canal and crown. I asked the receptionist via phone when finalizing the appointment how it worked. Would I get the root canal, a filing, then a temporary until the final comes in. She then put me on hold to ask the dentist. She returned to say root canal filling then permanent. I said awesome I though it would take weeks to get the permanemt. She said no it will you'll come back for that. I asked of I'd be able to eat ok and she said yes.
So do you think they won't give me a temporary crown?? Did she misunderstand? Wouldn't I need a temp crown to eat safely?

Tooth extraction while infected
Hi All, Ive had a shitty tooth for about two years that was hopeless. Id gotten the cavity filled and refilled after it had fallen out one too many times. Anyway, the tooth was hopeless and useless and only gathered food and smelled and tasted disgusting. So I got it extracted. Dentist said she made a small incision to remove it and told me there's an infection in the gum. She gave me antibiotic and painkillers.
After the anesthetic wore away I was in excruciating pain, to the point of tears and quivering - my parents are freaking out and swearing at the Dentist cause she removed my tooth while it was infected.
I cant lie down cause rivers of blood will fill my mouth up and Ive been spitting blood for about 4 hours now.
Question: was she wrong to have removed it? Also, how can I sleep and what do I do to stop the bleeding?

[Urgent] I recently had two TAD's installed..
...and my doctor told me to clean them, but I wasn't given a way to do so. How can I properly clean my TAD's?
Also: I'm a SARPE patient and my procedure isn't until Thursday the 23rd of this month.

Dental help for my wife.
I am searching for help for my wife. Through years after gastric bypass and giving birth to three children her teeth are completely shot. Most people look at her and see nothing but a meth addict. That she is not. Yes some of it is neglect. But most of it is a gastrointestinal system that is messed up from gastric bypass. We now live in the Amarillo Texas area and I am searching for information on a dentist or clinic in the area that can at the bare minimum pull her teeth. Yes ideally she wants dentures or implants to replace. Every time we get money that could be used to fix her teeth we instead need to use it for other things for the family or the children. The pain that her teeth cause her has forced us into ERs or urgent care facilities where medical staff just look at her like she is a meth addict. I would not love this woman like I do if she was. She is a fiercely loyal and dedicated mother and wife. Any information someone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

İmplant kişinin vücuduna uyumluluk gösteren titanyum adı verilen küçük vida ve bu vidanın üzerine abutment eklendikten sonra porselen veya zirkonyum olarak adlandırılan kronlar aracılığıyla yapılan tedavi ile yapılmaktadır. Kullanılan vida vücudumuzda bulunan diş kökünün görevini üstlenmesi için geliştirilmiş, insan çene kemiğine uyumluluk gösteren bir diş köküdür. Kayıp dişlerin sayısı fark etmeden uygulanan implant tedavisi sonrasında hasta aynı gün içerisinde hayatına devam edebilmekte, herhangi bir sorunla karşılaşmamaktadır. İmplant nasıl yapılır? sorusunu merak edenler makalemizde içeriğine erişebileceklerdir. Tedavi öncelikle lokal anestezi yardımıyla klinik ortamlarda başlatılmaktadır. Cerrahi operasyon konusunda endişesi olan hastalar için sedasyon ile lokal anestezi birlikte uygulanmaktadır. Bu işlem yapıldıktan sonra cerrahi operasyon sırasında diş eti açılmakta, çene kemiği ortaya çıkarılmaktadır. Çene kemiği uygulaması sonrasında kemiğe küçük oranda rehber deliği açılmakta ve bu delik genişletilerek çene kemiği üzerinde oluşması muhtemel olan travmatik etki azaltılması sağlanmaktadır. Çene kemiğinde genişletilen boşluğa implant vidalanma yoluyla yerleştirilmektedir. İmplant vidası çene kemiği boşluğuna yerleştirildikten sonra, bu alanda osseointegrasyon oluşabilmesi yani implatın kemikleşebilmesi için koruyucu özellikte bir kapak vida yerleştirilmektedir. Aynı zamanda bu vida implant yapılan alanın iyileşmesini beklemek için takılmaktadır. Dikilerek kapatılan dişeti, birkaç ay iyileşmesi için beklemeye alınır. Bu süre sona erdikten sonra, hasta muayene için doktorunun yanına gider ve vida çıkartılır. Bu aşamada dental implant üzerine geçici olan kuron yerleştirilir. Kuronun görevi dişetinin doğal yollarla kendini şekillendirmesi ve büyümesi gerektiği kadar şablon kazanmasını sağlamaktır. Dişetinin şekillenmesi tamamlandıktan sonra geçici kuron çıkartılır yerine kalıcı porselen ya da zirkonyum diş kuronu yerleştirilir. Tedavisi sona eren hasta için doktorunun öneride bulunduğu ilaçlar kullanılarak tamamen iyileşme sağlanır.
