The traditional denture is sitting on top of the gums and does not allow maintaining the existing bone level. The jaw bone is resorbing/shrinking and becomes thinner over time. Thus, gradually your dentures will be less stable. The traditional denture can move and feel unstable on your gums which will cause continual discomfort and in some cases frequent irritations/ulcers.
A complete denture upper or lower denture over implants will maintain facial structure and prevent bone loss in the jaws. This type of denture is completely safe, it will not move, thus provide more comfort, stability and will provide you effective mastication.
